The game itself is quite simple, but it is very enjoyable and actually much deeper than then straightforward controls would have you think. There is actually a lot of strategic depth to it, particularly when playing online. The map consists of hexagonal tiles. You simply move your ship by moving your cursor to the tile you wish to move to and pressing X. You can also use curses by pressing Y, and that’s really about it when it comes to controls. Your ship fires automatically when beside a target. There is also a mini-map you can pull up with the bumper buttons.

Each pirate team has a home base, and the goal is to capture as many neutral cities as you can. The team that reaches the required amount or has the most when time expires wins. To capture a city, you simply move beside it and you will automatically attack it, when its defenses are destroyed you then need to capture it. Each town also grants you resources. There are 3 resources – lumber, rum, and gold, and they are accumulated automatically over time. Towns increase the rate at which you get these resources. You can spend your resources to upgrade your ship’s armor, cannons, or speed at the home base or upgrade the defenses of the towns you own. There are also neutral merchant ships which you can sink to get curses, which are basically power-ups, and neutral villages that grant you a one-time resource boost when destroyed.

The graphics are fairly well done. They’re nice and clean, nothing spectacular, but they get the job done. The water is actually fairly impressive, for an arcade game. They could have done a better job with the cannons and explosions, though. The menus are done in a spirited pirate theme that comes together nicely, and the music also gets you in that plundering spirit. The sound effects are serviceable. The game does a great job of portraying the pirate theme.

Single player is a reasonably fun, but short romp. It’ll take about 5 hours to beat all 21 challenges, and there’s no reason to come back to them after that. The goal is always the same – capture a set amount of towns, and the missions aren’t really much different than a standard versus map. The AI is not the greatest – there’s no way to command your teammates (singleplayer’s biggest flaw), so you often just have to follow them around and hope for the best. The map editor is very robust, and allows you to create maps just like the default ones. You can even share these maps with others. If you’re into that kind of stuff, it can extend this game’s replay value a bit. But online pc games free download is really where it’s at.

At first glance the game is a beautiful masterpiece. All character models are drawn in high-res sprites. Backgrounds are done in 3D, and the blend of both equate to a wonderful convergence of visuals. The game is pretty to say the least. Each character also has a fun and quirky style reminiscent of Guilty Gear’s lineage of outlandish character stock. We have cat girls, huge breasted beauties, mechanical marionettes, and countless odd yet cool fighters. If you can find your own quirk, there is bound to be a respectable character to scratch that itch within the game’s 12 playable fighters.

Sound, too, boasts a caliber of oomph, which is usually accompanied by a mash-up of heavy metal riffs and classical music. While to some this might be an irritating soundtrack, I didn’t find it to be annoying and it blended quite well with the high-intensity fights on screen. The one thing that can detract from the experience is the constant yelling and yelping that accompanies each move characters make. Some are more irritating than others (Tao for example comes to mind–meow, meow, meow…) but overall, the battle cries aren’t excruciating, and after a few moments you drown it out into the background.

Gameplay itself is where the meat is, and with that you can take this game into two camps; the ones that will button mash, and those that will take the time to master the mechanics. It’s totally up to you how you approach the game, but to the dedicated they will find a rich experience to sink their teeth into. There are four attack buttons: weak, medium, strong, and Drive. The first three are self explanatory, the fourth, Drive, is a special attack that utilizes a characters special ability. While this array of button layout may seem tame compared to other fighters, in combination with quarter-circles, half-circles and the like, the game opens up considerably and the emphasis of quick dash and strike attacks takes over.

This is where the depth of the game shines as knowing what moves and attacks do what kind of damage and effect on the opponent and how it can create an opening for a combo string. There are also two gauges, one controlling your guard and the other your super. Combine these with cancels, grabs and others, and you have quite and arsenal to kick some…well you know.

Once you think yourself decent, take the downloadable game to its various modes. You have your mandatory training, arcade and versus mode. These are self explanatory, but there are others. Story is an interesting change to the formula for this genre, as there is an actual story to follow. Granted the story here isn’t amazing, but it is entertaining and the way the game forces you to choose different paths to unveil the whole story is interesting and a welcomed change to the usual we’ve seen before in this genre.

Along with story mode you have Score Attack (a variation of survivor mode) and Network, its online component. Online is pretty basic with player and ranked matches and you can watch a match along with four other people. The online mode is regular 1v1, but be forewarned, there are some top notch caliber people out there right now so you might be outgunned. If you have friends who have the game you can always set up a private match for a more balanced game. As of now, the online portion is very solid without any lag and most people whom I’ve come across have been cordial and stayed through the whole game.

You can play as any one of the main five characters from the movie, of course including Arthur and Lancelot. Each one has his own special moves and attacks, before each chapter you will be given the choice of picking one of two characters to play the chapter with. The game’s environments are so similar to some of the movie’s areas, it’s really neat and capture the look of the film. Characters are so highly detailed and look realistic, backgrounds are nice and colorful.

Once again the music and sound are taken directly from the movies, which is a brilliant idea. Sound effects are well done you can hear the swords clashing and enemies crying/screaming.

Combat in king Arthur is so engaging, you have your melee attack which you will use more often, melee attacks are performed by pressing one of three buttons, and one special move. Ranged attacks are done by using bows and arrows, it is a very powerful attack. Finally you have your horseback mode, here you will be riding your horse and using you sword to attack, or using your own horse to stomp and kick enemies.

You can upgrade your characters after you beat a mission using the points you get depends on how many enemies you have killed in this certain mission, there are several categories to upgrade, like speed, strength.

The game is challenging and difficult, sometimes you will be facing a countless number of enemies, here your skills will be tested. Another thing made the game even harder, it is when you die during a mission, the game forces you to replay it from the start all over again.

Speaking of difficulty level, you have a way to decrease it and make the game even more fun to play, it is by using the free download, it is just a multi-player mode, here you can let your friend play with you through the missions, it is very helpful and fun.

Overall king Arthur is a great game with even a greater story, it offers a very engaging game play, excellent graphics, and fun co op mode!

First of all, as you can tell from the title, this game contains 3 unique games. They are sloppily thrown together with a glitchy menu screen, so you can tell fairly early on amateurs put this game together. (The menu I believe glitches out after you play dodgeball) This game is a prime example of why all games no matter how fast they are put together need testing. A twelve year old could have identified many problems with this game and in turn improved it greatly. It is very sad to see the effort put into the making of these games and stupid mistakes, which could easily have been fixed, ruin them. I’m not sure if the three games included in this game were made exclusively for this three in one game, or if they were all just thrown together because they are too short themselves for a whole game. (You will probably get tired of each individual game after about 5 minutes)

Big Alley Bowling – Well, what can I say, bowling is an extremely simple game so it’s hard to screw up. Somehow however, they found a way. Firstly, there seems to be no depth in this game. There is only seven pins lined up and if you hit the 3 middle ones it seems to automatically knock down the pin behind it. The game feels too “2d” when it should feel more “3d”. The only good thing about this game is the fact that there is a tournament mode. Its quite boring, but at least the thought was there. The system for throwing the ball is extremely simple. You press a button and a cursor starts to move. You press the button again to select your power and the cursor begins to move in the other direction. You press the button one last time to select the accuracy and your ball is on the way down the alley. Basically, you can find much better bowling games across the Internet for free that are a lot more fun than this.

Dodgeball – Like the bowling game, this game is simple and insufficient in many ways. Basically, each team has 3 people and they are allowed to get hit 5 times before they are out. The only problem is it is impossible to control all three of your characters at the same time, so almost always 2 of them run up by the front and just constantly get hit until they are out. Once 2 of your characters are out, it becomes super easy, because it is very easy to dodge the ball the enemy throws. All you have to do is time the dodge correctly and you will never get hit. Throwing the ball at the enemy is also very easy as they usually don’t even move and often run up very close to you. I’ve played a dodgeball game on the NES that was far superior to this. There is also no tournament mode or difficulty setting so you’re stuck playing with the same settings over and over.

Paintball – I’ve left the paintball game for last for a reason. It’s so bad it’s almost not worth wasting my time. Basically, there are two modes, Capture the flag (CTF) and elimination. Both modes have the option to choose either a time limit or a score limit. Whatever you choose, you start with 99 paintballs and a life gauge. The only actions you can do are run, shoot and duck. In CTF it is very easy to simply run, get the enemies flag and capture it. It’s basically not a challenge at all and a big waste of time. As long as you keep running, the enemies will almost never hit you. The major flaw in this game lies in the fact that you only have 99 paintballs. It may seem like a lot, but its not, and you don’t get extra ones as you would in those download free games for pc. Each enemy takes around 4 shots to kill and you’re probably going to miss quite a few as well as you can only shoot in 4 directions unless you’re moving diagonally.

The time limits you can select are 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes and the score limits you can select are 10, 20, 30 or 40… Were they even thinking when they made those limits? I can tell you from experience that 99 shots only last about 2-3 minutes, so why in the world would they have any limit over 10 minutes?

The lightly touched on story revolves around a shackled Mars revolting from its rulers, Earth. Earth deploys you to crush this rebellion, outfitting you in one of two ships, Mosquito 1 or Mosquito 2. The former is equipped with a fairly wide spread shot, the latter with straight forward gunfire and superior speed. also come strapped with a short-ranged, but very powerful, piercing cannon and the absorption barrier mosquito. When your gauge is full, using this mosquito technique will suck in all enemy fire and, with a bit of deft aiming, hurl them back toward those dirty rebels. You may also drain the gauge entirely to unleash the ruthless gravity hole bomb.

Takumi obviously likes horrible names, but before you’re even able to wrap your head around the nerdy ‘absorption barrier mosquito,’ your ship will probably have exploded. There are absolutely no walls or meteor rocks to maneuver around in Mars Matrix, nor will touching enemies kill you, or even strip you of any weapons. Instead, you face off against bullets. Lots of bullets. Millions of bullets. Lines of bullets, waves of bullets, nets of **********ing bullets. The only time your TV screen won’t be soaked with bright blue or neon pink enemy fire is when your score is being tallied up at the end of each level – and you’ll only ever see that with a little miracle work.

Okay, so that’s not entirely accurate – the first two levels only seem to spit a couple hundred thousand bullets in your face. But Mars Matrix does go ape**** on you, sodomizing you with bright-colored dots from beginning to end. (Your end.) The game walks that line of impossibility, and yet, it’s not impossible. Hell, Takumi even includes strategy videos for you to unlock that display the talents of some super-nerd beating all but the last stage without dying once. It’s absolutely nuts.

Most of this seems so overwhelming because the absorption barrier mosquito is much harder to use effectively than you’d think. You have to know when to use it, how much of the gauge to drain and to whom you’ll make eat their own bullets. To call this demanding would be a serious understatement. But the download free games are properly set up for you to take out a few tanks with your basic shot here, unleash the piercing cannon on a battle cruiser there and pull in gunfire when their dozens of replacements arrive. Your mosquito gauge fills up fairly quickly, too, so you’re never really caught with your crap hanging out in wind. You’re also given much leeway with your tiny hitbox, and though the later levels churn out more than enough bullets to frighten all the insurgents and soldiers currently in Iraq, you’re able to level up your standard shot to respectable power by collecting enough of the gold cubes each destroyed enemy generates.

Sure it’s exactly the same as pretty much every other game in the genre, but those games were successful for a reason. There’s a whole bunch of neat tricks to pull off and the tried and tested control system is pretty much flawless. So why is the score so low? Because it’s unoriginal and aimed at children? Nope! Quite simply because it’s so small you really do think you’re playing the demo. There’s only 3 proper parks, which although well designed and different from the previous, really isn’t too big. There’s a few extra ones too, but these are just mini bonus levels and prove to be so frustratingly difficult, they’re really not worth the effort. Whilst there are quite a few characters to chose from (2 initially, plus about 5 to unlock), there seems to be no difference whatsoever in how they perform.

There’s only really 3 modes too. One if the ”Circuit” mode where you must get enough points to progress to the next round, there’s the practice mode where you can ride on any unlocked parks for as long as you like, but without getting marked; and then there’s the 2 player mode which just sees players taking turns to beat each other at the Circuit mode game. And that’s it. It really does feel like just a play free online games demo, there’s so little to it. Which is a shame really, cos it looks, sounds and plays perfectly fine. Ah well… if you do decide to purchase it however, watch the Credits section… there’s a video which you might just find interesting… hell, it’ll probably last you longer than the game itself!

All in all, it is pretty darn fine really. Big bold cartoon style parks and some children characters that actually look like children and are very well animated. It’s fun to play!

The controls are simple and use the D-pad to move and the face buttons to shoot, jack cars and leap over obstacles, and like its big brother you can also hail cabs to take you where you need to go. The touch screen is used ingeniously, and the mini games on offer feel true and right in the context of the world. So when you jack a parked car, you have to hotwire it in one of three ways, such as placing a screwdriver in the key slot and turning it or hacking the security system by tapping the correct numbers as they flash past on a display.

Weapon selection and your in game radar are all on the bottom screen as well, and it also houses a great innovation, the PDA. This nifty device lets you receive emails which give you missions and tips on drug offers, as well as view your in game stats and even order weapons and armor to be delivered to your door.

The biggest problem with the touch screen is that you use it to throw grenades and Molotov cocktails and it isn’t very accurate. When you tap the grenade icon, a small circle appears, and you simple slash in the direction you want to throw, but you have to stand still to do this, and cant throw very far or precisely, but this is a small compliant in an otherwise brilliant control scheme.

GTA: Wars will take about 10-12 hours to complete, so it is a fairly lengthy adventure, and with 100 security cameras dotted around the city to destroy there is plenty to keep you busy, but the greatest thing about the game play is the drug smuggling. Drug dealers are never far from your current position and at different times will offer different things to sell. By buying a drug from one dealer then going to another in a different area, you can make a profit as some pushers will buy at a higher price. At times though, you will get emails saying that certain dealers need specific drugs or are selling them at a discounted price, allowing you to make more cash as you sell downers, weed, heroin, crack, coke and acid.

Spending bit of time drug running means that money wont be a worry for the majority of the game, which means you can outfit yourself with an array of weapons and armor, which, since AmmuNation stores are no more, you can get delivered to the nearest safe house. These range from chainsaws and swords, right up to rocket launchers and mini guns and all are fantastic to use.

By pressing the right shoulder button, you automatically lock on to the nearest enemy, allowing fast death to be brought to your enemies. The biggest problem is that sometimes the camera doesn’t afford you the best view of the action, as level geometry can get in the way, which is a conceit of getting the game on the DS in the first place and it doesn’t happen that often, but just enough to make it noticeable.

The writing in most GTA games is sharp, but here especially so, as the limitations of the system mean full voice acting is not possible, and neither is a licensed track list, but you honestly wont miss the voice acting that much and the music that is in there is generic like those download free games for pc, but functional.

As the writing is so good, the usual array of eccentric and despicable characters lurks around every corner, from your porn loving uncle, to the triad sex pest with a penchant for Thai lady boys. It really does feel like a full GTA game, and that is what makes it so special.

Aside from the lengthy story, you can compete with a friend via local multiplayer, which is a massive shame and honestly a reason to put the game down when the story is complete. The modes that are there are customizable, and getting the default vehicle to a tank and then letting loose on the city and your friend is a blast, but one that will fade quickly.

There is some online functionality that allows weapon and drug trades, as well as the ability to sync up with Rockstar’s website and upload your stats. It is neatly done and a nice fit, but online multiplayer is still sorely missed.

There are four categories of mini-games: strength, yoga, aerobics, and balance, and the first two are clearly geared towards those interested in fitness. The strength and yoga exercises are more about increasing your fitness, rather than having fun, so I will discuss those in detail later when I evaluate Wii Fit’s performance as a fitness tool. Doing push-ups and performing stretches on one leg isn’t what most people consider fun (unless you are sadistic), so I’ll leave that part out of the gameplay evaluation.

The balance and aerobics games are the meat and potatoes of the Wii Fit gaming experience. I had the most fun with the balancing games. One of them, which I played over and over until I got it right, had me rolling a ball (or multiple balls), into a hole by shifting my body weight in different directions. The game played like a new-age version of Marble Madness, and was highly entertaining. Once you complete eight stages of this challenging game, an advanced mode opens up that makes the beginner mode look easy. It is highly addictive, and it actually makes you feel like you’re improving your balance and control of your body. Other modes I’d like to highlight are snowboarding, skiing, guiding a bubble through a river, and grabbing fish on a tilting iceberg with a penguin. The snowboarding game feels like actual snowboarding without the risk of breaking bones and dealing with ski-lifts. You swerve in an out of posts by leaning back-and-forth, much like you would on a real snowboard. The skiing mini-games are similar, but I felt that the snowboarding was a more authentic experience. Guiding a bubble through a river is pure fantasy, but it makes great use of the Wii Balance Board. You have to shift your weight carefully to avoid running into walls and bees which bring about instant death. Besides avoiding obstacles, you have to deal with various currents, so you have to be extremely careful with your movements. At times, it was frustrating when I couldn’t pass a certain point, but I kept on playing, which reveals the addictive nature of the game. Moving side-to-side with a penguin on an iceberg to grab fish was also a short, but fun experience. For these balance games, I suggest bringing a friend or two over to your place to see who can get the highest score, or who can get the farthest on those free pc games download mini-games that are online.

I covered the balance games in detail, but how do the aerobics games measure up? Some of them are fun, like the infamous hula-hoop experience that was made famous via a youtube video. Others are a good workout, but are disappointing from a gamers perspective. The stepping mini-game is somewhat like DDR, but it is actually closer to a simple aerobics tape infomercial you’d see on TV. Likewise, the running mini-games are good for your health, but don’t translate into a creative game experience. You basically jog in place and watch your on-screen avatar move, which you could just as easily do without the balance board. Still, since this is a game where you can see how you perform, people might be more motivated to partake in these cardiovascular activities.

So now that you’ve heard about the Wii Fit game experience, you’re probably wondering how it stacks up as a fitness tool. Well, it delivers to some extent, but you could probably get better results by lifting weights, doing simple exercises such as push-ups and crunches on your own, or by running. I work out a few times a week, and I found the strength exercises to be easy for the most part. If you do them enough, you can unlock modes that allow you to do higher repetitions, which feels closer to a real workout. Still, some of the strength exercises were new to me, so it was useful as a learning tool.

The yoga poses were all new to me, so I felt that the Wii Fit system did a decent job of explaining how to do them. For those who practice yoga regularly however, this system probably isn’t that useful. You could just as easily do these exercises without a Wii Balance Board. For those of us who don’t stretch enough however, this game just may be the motivation we need; just don’t expect a great gaming experience.

Like many other street racing games already on the market, Most Wanted will feature open races filled with shortcuts to exploit as players make their way through the game, trying to make their way to the top of the heap in the game’s underground racing world. For those who want to make their car extra pretty, there will be a number of paint options, as well as rims, wings, and so forth that can be slapped on ones ride, and for those that couldn’t care less about looks, and would rather focus on performance, they just need to stop by their safe house, where they can install new engine components, suspensions, and whatnot to shave a few seconds off of their time.

While this is all well and good, what a lot of people will want to know about is how the police comes into play in the game. At this point, it looks like the fuzz will be completely computer controlled, as they try to put an end to players’ street racing days. As the police catch wind of a race they’ll pursue those involved, while also putting up roadblocks, and tack strips in the paths of racers in an attempt to disable their cars and haul the drivers off to jail. There’s no word yet if there will be any game modes that allow players to control the police, like you get pc games download, which would be really neat for Most Wanted’s online play, but here’s to hoping that this does indeed happen in some way, shape, or form.

The classic is back! Again! There’s not a lot going on in the backgrounds and there’s been nothing shown of actual in-game footage or screens of what kind of foes you’ll be facing off against. That’s a bit troubling considering the game is supposed to be groundbreaking.Edge of Reality’s credentials are mostly built upon titles like Over the Hedge, Shark Tale, and ports of the early Tony Hawk games to N64, but they also worked on the N64 port of Spider-Man, which gives them some credibility in the super-hero department.

The way I see it is that the only way The Incredible Hulk can screw up is presenting a choppy, bug-filled experience and somehow forget to convey a sense of Hulk’s raw power. It seems like they’ve taken heavy cues from Radical’s game, classic full version pc games and slathered a new coat of high-definition paint on it, so there’s not really any other way it can be screwed up. And that’s a good thing.
